Paediatric Nurse - Complex Care

Job Introduction

First Option Healthcare are a Complex Care provider who specialise in providing care to Children & Adults with Complex needs in their own home. You’ll deliver personalised care and support to our clients in their own homes to help maintain dignity & self-worth and promote independence.

We are looking for a caring, compassionate, bubbly & energetic Paediatric nurses to work across Milton Keynes in the community on some our 1:1 homecare packages. Ideally you will be a car driver who is flexible to work both days and nights and provide expert care to children with complex needs at home.

If you have at least 12 months experience with majority of the below we would LOVE to hear from you:

• Enteral Feeding - (PEG/PEG J/Gastrostomy/Mickey Button/Stoma Care
• Seizure Management - Experience working with complex seizures such as Tonic-clonic/Myoclonic & Absent seizures. Having experience Adminstering rescue medicine such as Buccal Midazolam is advantageous
• Oxygen Management - Experience Adminstering oxygen to Children in a community or hospital setting
• Ventilation - Experience using popular Ventilators such as BiPAP/CiPAP/Resmed Stellar / Nippy 4 etc)
• Tracheostomy Care - Experience changing & cleaning a tracheostomy on a child on a 1:1 basis
• Suctioning - Experience with all 3 types of Suctioning (Oral / Nasal & Deep) 
• Manual Handling - This includes using a hoist, slide sheets and repositioning children at home

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 & 2:1 care to patients in their own home
• Build rapport with family members and other staff members
• Making sure care plans are followed and client dignity & respect is practiced

We have a variety of shifts available to suit your availability such as long days, Nights, late shifts and more

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer sponsorship for overseas candidates or take staff who are on a sponsorship with another company and only available to work 20 hours p/week as we do not have the correct licence to do so.
